Kyiv, July 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko has signed law on science parks adopted by parliament on June 25.

The text of the document was posted on the official Web site of the president on Friday.

The bill sets out the legal, economic, and organizational grounds for the formation and functioning of science parks. The document is expected to promote the development and introduction of innovative products on the domestic and foreign markets.

According to the document, a science park is created at a university or research institution to make effective and rational use of the available research potential and to market the results of research, with the aim of the further introduction of products on the domestic and foreign markets.

Apart from that, according to the bill, a science park functions on the basis of an agreement or statute that is regulated by the law.
