of VS Energy International Ukraine, a limited liability company, has plans to
build a combined cycle electric generating plant with the capacity of 240 MW in
Ukrainian News learned this from spokesman of VS Energy International
Ukraine, a subsidiary of Dutch VS Energy International N.V., Volodymyr Dunaev. "The corresponding memorandum was signed the other day," he said.
According to him, the document was signed by representatives of
energy-supplying company Sevastopolenerho, VS Energy, chairman of the Sevastopol
City State Administration Serhii Kunitsyn and chairman of the Sevastopol City
Council and honorary chairman of the Regions Party's branch Valerii Saratov. The plant construction cost tops USD 200 million. According to the message, in the near future, the company plans to hold a
presentation of the project and call a tender for drawing up a feasibility
study for the plant construction. As Ukrainian News earlier reported, VS Energy International Ukraine plans
to extend its energy business. VS Energy International owns 20.36% in Odesaoblenerho, 70% in
Sevastopolenerho, 91.62% in OJSC Zhytomyroblenerho, over 90% in
Kirovohradoblenerho and Khersonoblenerho, 21.98% in Chernivtsioblenerho, 11.79%
in Khmelnytskyioblenerho and round 10.5% in Zakarpattiaoblenerho. In May 2001, the VSE state-owned Slovak company bought 65% of stocks in
Khersonoblenerho from the State Property Fund of Ukraine, 51% of stocks in
Kirovohradoblenerho and 70% in Sevastopolenerho, as well as 75.56% in
