Voronezh, July 29 (Interfax-AVN) - The Voronezh aircraft building joint-stock company (VASO) plans to manufacture seven Antonov An-148 regional jets in 2010, VASO General Director Vitaly Zubarev told journalists.

The first serially produced An-148 was demonstrated in Voronezh on Tuesday. In addition to contractors, taking part in the ceremony were also airlines taking interest in the plane, among them S7 Airlines, Vladivostok Avia, and Kuban Airlines, Zubarev said.

The first plane is to be handed over to the state-owned airline Rossiya in September this year, Zubarev said.

VASO plans to manufacture 14 An-148s in 2011, 20 in 2012, and 36 in 2013, he said.

An-148 is a short-range passenger aircraft that can carry 70 to 90 passengers for up to 5,000 kilometers at a cruising speed of 820-870 km/h. VASO specializes in producing An-148s and Ilyushin Il-96 long-range airliners and is preparing to launch serial production of Il-112 military cargo planes.
