Kyiv, July 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The enterprises of the State Sea and River Navigation Administration of Ukraine (Ukrmorrichflot) in January to June 2009 widened their revenues by 56%, to UAH 5.929 billion against H1, 2008, the press service of Ukraine's Transport and Communications Ministry has reported, referring to the head of the administration and deputy transport minister, Mykhailo Chubai.

The incomes of maritime ports jumped by 60%, to UAH 4.687 billion.

The net profit of Ukrmorrichflot's companies in H1, 2009 came to UAH 1.133 billion, which is 3.8 times up year-over-year.

As reported, the domestic sea and river merchant fleet in H 1, 2009 cut processing of cargo by 61.5%, a total of 3.7 million tonnes of cargo being delivered to customers. River transportation of cargo went down by 72.9%, and sea transportation fell by 45.6%. Foreign sea transportation fell by 53.7%, and foreign river transportation fell by 61.6%.

Processing of cargo at merchant and fishing ports and industrial wharves (sea and river) fell by 15.3%, to 77.2 million tonnes. Processing of export cargo went up by 14.7%, and that of domestic cargo fell by 65%, while import cargo fell by 54.9%, and transit cargo was down by 22.8%.
