Kyiv, July 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine by July 30 had threshed 26.5 million tonnes of grain, which is 7.3% up on the figure for 2008, the Agriculture Ministry has reported.

According to the ministry, Ukraine threshed early grains and leguminous plants from 9.5 million hectares, which is 2.1 million hectares up compared to last year.

The average productivity of the cropland in Ukraine is 27.9 quintals per hectare.

In particular, farmers harvested wheat from 5.4 million hectares, threshing 16.5 million tonnes, and barley from 3.6 million hectares, threshing 9.1 million tonnes.
