Kyiv. July 24 (Interfax) - Ukrtransnafta, Ukraine's oil transportation monopolist, boosted net profit some 400% to UAH 451.726 million in the first half of 2009 compared to the same period of 2008, the company said in a report.

Sales revenue fell 2.8% to UAH 1.049 billion in the period, while gross profit grew 300% to 594.638 million hryvnias.

The company boosted net profit 140% to UAH 125.696 million in the second quarter of 2009 compared to the same period of 2008, sales revenue - 26.5% to UAH 473.031 million and gross profit - 160% to UAH 248.584 million.

Net profit fell 90.7% in 2008 to UAH 19.704 million from UAH 193.974 million in 2007.

Ukrtransnafta is the operator of the Ukrainian oil transport system. Naftogaz Ukrainy manages 100% of the company's shares.
