Brussels, July 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine has provided a schedule of reforms in the gas sector, as requested by the European Commission and international financial institutions in order for them to consider giving a credit to Ukraine to pay for gas that will be pumped in underground stores. Representative of the European Commission Mark Gray told the president in Brussels on Thursday that the commission received a respective letter from Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko on Wednesday. He also noted that the International Monetary Fund decided to provide a third tranche of its Stand-By credit to Ukraine yesterday. Gray said that these two facts (Tymoshenko's letter and the IMF credit) taken together make it likely that EU officials will deicide to grant a credit for Ukraine to buy gas. | |
