Kyiv, August 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Kyiv-based CJSC TAS insurance company January through June 2009 boosted insurance premium collection by 56% year-over-year, to UAH 68.799 million.

As the company said in a report, it paid insurance claim fees worth a total of UAH 1.994 million over the period under review, which was similar to the figure registered in the first half of 2008.

The company's assets in the first six months of 2009 soared by 2.5 times, to UAH 375.888 million, while its insurance reserves expanded by 75%, to UAH 219.918 million.

Its charter capital is estimated to be worth UAH 21.306 million.

Moreover, the company said that thanks to its investment activity, the overall size of attached bonuses in the first half of 2009 was 19.23% per annum in the national currency, 11.61% in the U.S. dollar, and 8.67% in the euro.

Over the period under review, the company concluded 8,881 insurance agreements, having thus expanded its client base by 35%.

The overall number of TAS clients as of July 1, 2009, was 58,581, which was 80% up on the same date of 2008.

The company says that it runs 12 agencies in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Poltava, Vinnytsia, and Odesa.

TAS' core business is life insurance.
