SUN INBEV POSTS NET LOSSES OF 380 M RUBLES IN 2008
Moscow. July 17 (Interfax) - SUN InBev, which represents the interests of
InBev in Russia,
posted net losses of 380.4 million rubles in 2008 compared to 1.7 billion
rubles in net profit in 2007, the company said in a report.
Sales revenue grew to 39.7 billion rubles
in 2008 from 38.2 billion rubles in 2007.
The company produced and sold 19.99 million
hectoliters of beer in 2008, down 12% from 2007. The decline in production is
the result of the worsening economic climate in Russia and around the globe in
addition to a drop in demand for beer.

beer in 2008. Export revenue did not exceed 2% of total revenue. The main
buyers of SUN InBev products were Kazakhstan,
Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Georgia,
Germany
and Baltic countries.InBev was founded
in August 2004 via the merger of Interbrew and AmBev. SUN InBev is the second
largest beer producer in Russia
with a roughly 20% market share. It includes eleven breweries that produce
Stella Artois,
Beck's, Brahma, Staropramen, Hoegaarden, Sibirskaya Korona, Klinskoye, Tolstyak
and BagBeer.
