Kyiv, July 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The State Mortgage Institution (SMI) plans from July 20, 2009 to start the procedure for financing the completion of housing projects with a readiness of over 70% and a commissioning term no later than December 25, 2009, an institution press release says.

The procedure includes the purchase of newly built apartments in the regions of Ukraine using a mechanism for defining the smallest production cost of one square meter.

On June 19, the SMI sold bonds worth UAH 502.486 million out of an overall issue worth UAH 1 billion at an auction on the PFTS. Oschadbank bought the bonds. The funds raised will be used for the completion of housing projects.
