18:50 PRICES IN KYIV HOTELS ONLY 3.6% DOWN OVER SIX MONTHS
Kyiv, August 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prices in Kyiv hotels from January to July 2009 fell by 3.6%, reads a survey of commercial real estate in Kyiv for H1, 2009 drawn up by Knight Frank LLC Ukraine consulting company (Kyiv). "By July 2009 compared to early 2009, hotel rates in Kyiv slightly changed – there was a 3.6% fall," reads the document. The survey says that by late June 2009, the average price of a standard room in Kyiv's three-star hotels was $104 per day, that for four-star hotels - $253 per day and that for five-star hotels - $448 (taking into account a UAH 7.6/$1 exchange rate). The company's specialists said that discounts and the fluctuation of the hryvnia exchange rate explain the slight fall in the hotel fees. The survey says that the fees for rooms in three- and two-star hotels are denominated in hryvnias, while four- and five-star hotels take euros. The company's specialists said that by late 2009 they do not expect great changes in the hotel fee policy. Knight Frank was founded in London and provides a full range of agent and consulting services for developers, real estate owners and users, including businesses and individuals. The total value of the company's contracts in 2007 exceeded $700 billion, and its income was $704 million.
