Ovidiopol, August 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko has promised to hire a specialist to monitor the activities of state officials on land issues.

He announced this during his visit to Ovidiopol on Thursday.

However, the president did not name any candidates to fill this position.

Yuschenko said his initiative was prompted by problems in the land sector of Ukraine, especially corruption regarding land property acts.

The president said that almost seven million people who privatized their land were not given state property acts.

Yuschenko said he had instructed the government to resolve this problem by the end of the year.
