Kyiv, Aug 4 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Nemiroff, a leading CIS distiller, boosted sales 9.2% in the first half of 2009 year-on-year to $213.5 million, the company said in a press release. The company sold 3.46 million decaliters of liquor in over 55 countries in the six months. Sales on the Polish market increased the most, by 21%. Nemiroff boosted its share of the Polish liquor market, estimated to total 250 million decaliters a year, to over 1%. Nemiroff was able to post growth in crisis conditions thanks to a well-timed reorganization, board chairman Oleksandr Hlus said. Nemiroff produces over 7.5 million decaliters of alcoholic beverages a year. It has two distilleries, both located in the city of Nemyriv in Vinnytsia region. The company produces product for the Russian market at the Yaroslavsky Distillery. The company sold 7.7 million decaliters of product in 2008, posting sales of $482.9 million, 0.8% more than in 2007. | |
