Kyiv, July 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Lviv locomotive repair plant, one of the leading Ukrzaliznytsia enterprises, in January to June 2009 saw UAH 2 million in net losses, and year-over-year its net profit came to UAH 3.5 million. According to a company report posted at the State Commission for Securities and the Stock Market, its net income from sales in H1, 2009 more than halved year-over-year, to UAH 42.52 million. Taking into account earlier published data, in April to June 2009 its net income from sales shrank by 52.7%, while losses stood at UAH 2.4 million, while in April to June 2008 the plant's net profit was estimated at UAH 800,000. Lviv locomotive repair plant repairs electric locomotives, railway motors, auxiliary electric machines, and wheel pairs, as well as producing spares for repairing railway transport. In 2008, the plant increased its net income from sales by 17%, to UAH 156.07 million, while its net profit came to UAH 6.61 million (in 2007 the plant enjoyed UAH 4.64 million in net profit). Last year the plant repaired 63 electric locomotives worth UAH 97.5 million and 1,200 wheel sets worth UAH 34.26 million. The major rivals of the plant are Zaporizhia electric locomotive repair plant, Smeliansky electrical and mechanical plant and Kyiv railcar repair plant. Ukraine's Transport and Communications Ministry fully owns the plant. | |
