Kharkiv, August 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – OJSC Kharkiv Tractor Plant has again put its staff on enforced leave until September 1, 2009, one of the plant's employees has told Interfax-Ukraine. "Tractor production has been suspended. The reason given is extremely low demand," he said. The plant stopped on July 1 when all of its employees were put on enforced leave for a month. It was planned that the plant would restart operations from August 3 to work on a large order by Mongolia and with the help of state support, but this has not happened. Kharkiv Tractor Plant in 2008 saw its net loss rise by 72.4% compared to 2007, to UAH 154.97 million. Its net sales income grew by 64%, to UAH 675.98 million. | |
