Kyiv, August 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine's government has approved amendments to Ukrainian legislation to include the activity of debt collecting.

Justice Minister Mykola Onischuk announced this after a cabinet meeting in Kyiv on Wednesday.

"We've taken decisions at the meeting to approve changes to the legislation in order to streamline such an activity as debt collecting," he said.

He said that after corresponding amendments are made to the legislation, in particular, to the Economic Code, the government will be able to approve provisions about the conditions and procedure for licensing this type of business activity, as well as determine criteria and requirements on debt collectors, their responsibilities and their compliance with license conditions.
