Kyiv, August 4 (Interfax) - The transit of natural gas via Ukraine plummeted 37.1% to 47.8 billion cubic meters (bcm) in January-July 2009 compared to the same period of 2008, the Fuel and Energy Ministry told Interfax. Ukraine transited 46.1 bcm of gas to Europe in the seven months, down by 31.8% from the same period of 2008. Gas transit to Europe grew 13.3% to 8.5 bcm in July, while overall transit via Ukraine fell 5.4 to 8.7 bcm last month. | |
