Kyiv, August 4 (Interfax) - Energy Company of Ukraine generated 36 billion kWh of electricity in the first seven months of the year, 16.7% less than in the same period last year, the state-owned company said in a press release. Energy Company of Ukraine accounted for 37% of national electricity production in the seven months. Electricity consumption in Ukraine fell 13.6% year-on-year in the period. Energy Company of Ukraine's thermal plants reduced output 19.8% to 25.2 billion kWh and combined heat and power plants reduced output 23.7% to 3.6 billion kWh, while its hydroelectric plants increased output 1.1% to 7.3 billion kWh. Output of heat fell 8.3% to 11.4 million Gcal. Energy Company of Ukraine, founded in 2004, includes Ukraine's state-owned electricity assets. | |
