Kyiv, August 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – State enterprise National nuclear energy generating company Energoatom in January to June 2009 saw its net profit fall by 5.1 times year-on-year, to UAH 30.446 million, the company has told Interfax-Ukraine. The company's net income over the six months grew by 12.3%, to UAH 5.367 billion. Power production by Energoatom's nuclear power plants (NPPs) in the period fell by 13% year-on-year, to UAH 41.98 billion kilowatt-hours. Power distribution by the plants over the six months dropped by 13.3%, to 38.543 billion kilowatt-hours. Energoatom, Ukraine's nuclear power plant operator, runs the Zaporizhia, Yuzhnoukrainsk, Rivne and Khmelnytsky NPPs, which have reactors with a total generating capacity of 13,835 megawatts. | |
