Kyiv, July 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) may lend EUR 4.1 million to Kyiv-based Logoplaste Ukraine Ltd. The EBRD Board of Directors is to consider the loan on September 8, 2009, reads an EBRD statement. The loan is aimed at supporting Logoplaste Ukraine in acquiring, modernizing, and operating the packaging facilities of SC Johnson Ukraine, a subsidiary of U.S. Johnson&Johnson. According to the statement, the project will have a demonstration effect of the concept attractive to replication by other companies since it offers an integrated and complete packaging development and industrial solution that goes from early marketing, design research and strategy definition, to engineering, manufacturing and implementation. The concept allows companies (i) to reduce development costs; (ii) speed up time to market of the product; (iii) to have competitive pricing in a long term perspective; (iv) to be focused in their core business; (v) to increase the return on investment (ROI), avoiding to invest in the packaging activities. Logoplaste Ukraine is a subsidiary of Portuguese-based Logoplaste, a leading producer of rigid plastic packaging in Europe, which runs about 50 plants. Among Logoplaste's clients are Coca-Cola, Danone, Johnson&Johnson, Lactalis, Nestle, and Procter&Gamble. | |
