16:35 EBRD COULD REIMBURSE SMALL BANKS' FOR DIAGNOSTIC EXAMINATION EXPENSES, NBU SAYS | |
Kyiv, August 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) could partially reimburse the expenses of middle and small banks for diagnostic examination conducted at the requirement of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), according to a letter to the banks by the NBU group managing projects of international credit lines. According to the letter, the text of which has been posted on parliament's official Web site, the partial reimbursement of the expenses is foreseen by an agreement between the EBRD and NBU of June 30, 2009: The EBRD is ready to provide a corresponding grant to be realized by the NBU group managing projects of international credit lines. The procedure for making reimbursements will be conducted in two stages. The list of beneficiary banks and the total sum of their assets will be compiled at the first stage, and the reimbursement sum calculation and its payment will be determined at the second stage. To gain the status of a beneficiary bank, the banks have by August 31 to submit to the NBU a corresponding letter of commitment containing the legalized results of an examination conducted according to NBU requirements and documentation on the purchase of auditing services according to EBRD procedures. | |
