Kyiv, August 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Donetsk railways in January to July 2009 saw cargo transportation fall by 26.5% year-on-year, to 73.5 million tonnes, according to the railways' press service. In the seven months ending July 2009, the company's cargo turnover exceeded 17.6 billion tonne-kilometers, which is 34% less year-over-year. Donetsk railways unloaded 1.02 million wagons, which was 31.6% down compared to the same period in 2008. The average daily indicator was 4,810 wagons In July, the company saw cargo shipments fall by 24.1%, to 11.2 million tonnes. Its cargo turnover last month shrank by 29%, to 2.77 billion tonne-kilometers. Donetsk railways unloaded 158,630 wagons in July, which was 27.3% down compared to the same period in 2008. The average daily indicator was 5,120 wagons. Donetsk railways services the rail network in Donetsk, Luhansk and partly in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia and Kharkiv regions.
