Kyiv, August 3 (Interfax) - The Metinvest holding's Azovstal, one of Ukraine's leading steelmakers, saw roll output shrink 37.2% year-on-year in the first seven months of 2009 to 2.11 million tonnes, including 351,000 tonnes in July.

Production in the seven months fell 37.5% to 2.309 million tonnes of crude steel and 35.2% to 1.981 million tonnes of pig iron.

Sinter production fell 1.5% to 1.12 million tonnes and coke production was down 23.1% to 1.104 million tonnes.

Azovstal produced 427,000 tonnes of crude steel, 371,000 tonnes of pig iron, 163,000 tonnes of sinter and 181,000 tonnes of coke in May.

Finished roll production fell 10% in 2008 to 5.039 million tonnes.
