AVERAGE PRICE OF LAND PLOTS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF HOUSES IN KYIV REGION 1.66% UP IN JULY

Kyiv, August 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The average price of land plots for the construction of houses in Kyiv region in July 2009 grew by 1.66%, to $3,729 per 100 square meters, according to SV Development consulting company (Kyiv).

The changes in average prices are based on actual purchase and sale deals in the corresponding region.

A rise in the prices of land plots was registered in all districts of the region, apart from in Ivankiv and Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky districts, where the prices fell by 0.99% ($1,002) and 0.5% ($992) respectively.

The maximum rise in the price of land plots for construction was registered in Kyiv-Svyatoshyne District at 2.58%, where the average price of 100 square meters was $6,156. The minimum rise in the price was registered in Vyshgorod District at 0.02%, where the average price of 100 square meters was $2,864.

By August 1, 2009, the maximum price of 100 square meters of land was seen in Kyiv-Svyatoshyne District ($6,156), and the minimum price in Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky District ($992).

The company said that the largest number of land plots for the period was offered in Kyiv-Svyatoshyne District (21% of the total number), while the lowest number of land plots was offered in Bila Tserkva, Baryshivka, Ivankiv and Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky districts (1% each).

As reported, with reference to data from SV Development, over 2008 the price of land plots for construction in Kyiv region fell by 30-40%. An expert from the company forecast at least a 50% decrease in the average price of land for house construction in Kyiv region by the middle of 2010.

SV Development has been operating on the Ukrainian market since 2005.
