Kyiv, August 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Agriculture Ministry of Ukraine expects the government to allocate an additional UAH 275 million from the national budget stabilization fund to support the agriculture sector, Deputy Agriculture Minister Roman Shmidt said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.

"UAH 275 million will be allocated from the national budget stabilization fund soon," he said.

According to Shmidt, in particular, UAH 115 million would be used to subsidize credits for farmers, UAH 20 million to support the animal breeding sector, UAH 35 million to support agricultural cooperatives, and UAH 70 million to credit farms.

Shmidt said that in the first half of 2009 UAH 638 million of UAH 731 million foreseen in the national budget to support the agriculture sector were allocated. In July the government allocated UAH 432.4 million from the national budget stabilization fund to support the agriculture sector.
