11:54 ZAPORIZHIA-BASED DEPOSITORS OF YEVROPEYSKY BANK CALL ON CENTRAL BANK TO SPEED UP BANK'S LIQUIDATION PROCEDURE
Kyiv, August 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Depositors of Kyiv-based Yevropeysky Bank have called on the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) to speed up the bank's liquidation procedure. "As far as we know, if an NBU meeting had happened last Thursday, that decision would have been taken already. Unfortunately, the NBU is busy with large banks – Nadra and Ukrprombank, and such minor problems related to small-sized Yevropeysky Bank are on hold," said Chairperson of the Union of Depositors and Banking Service Consumers Nelli Bosiyeva at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday. "The depositors are outraged, because if the liquidation procedure starts today, the register of creditors will be formed faster and sent to the [Individuals'] Deposit Guarantee Fund, i.e. people will be able to get access to their assets sooner," she stressed. Bosiyeva also said that despite the statement by Yevropeysky Bank's management that all the liabilities to its clients will be paid in full, Zaporizhia-based depositors have not received their money.
