Kyiv, August 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine's Presidential Secretariat has said that the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) could become unprofitable in 2009. "It is not ruled out that this year, the National Bank will report losses," the chairman of the secretariat's main service for social and economic development, Roman Zhukovsky, said in Kyiv on Monday. He said that according to current legislation, if the NBU reports any losses, the difference should be compensated for from the state budget. | |
