Kyiv, July 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – OJSC Ukrtelecom in Q2, 2009 saw UAH 57.46 million in net profit, while in Q2, 2008 the company's losses stood at UAH 4.34 million.

According to a company report at the State Commission for Securities and the Stock Market issued on Friday, its net income in April to June grew by 0.7%, to UAH 1.615 billion.

Its gross profits jumped by 64.9% in Q2, 2009, to UAH 355.5 million, while its operating profit came to UAH 67.6 million against operating loss of UAH 108.28 million year-over-year.

In H1, 2009, the company saw its net losses rise by 21.8%, to UAH 124.13 million, while its net income shrank by 0.8%, to UAH 3.294 billion.

OJSC Ukrtelecom is a monopolist on the Ukrainian fixed communications market. The state owns a 92.79% stake in the operator, while 7.14% of its shares were sold to the company's employees.
