Kyiv, July 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The State Export-Import Bank of Ukraine, also known as Ukreximbank, and the Export-Import Bank of Korea have signed a memorandum of understanding.

"A memorandum of understanding between public joint-stock State Export-Import Bank of Ukraine and the Export-Import Bank of Korea was signed on July 16, 2009… The official signing ceremony took place in Seoul, in the office of the prime minister of the Republic of Korea, during an official visit of Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko to the Republic of Korea," Ukreximbank said in a press release.

The sides agreed on mutually beneficial cooperation in the sphere of financing projects with the use of energy-efficient technologies, trade facilitation programs, infrastructure projects, including as part of preparation and hosting of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship finals, as well as environmental projects.

Ukreximbank was founded in 1992. All of its stocks belong to the state.

As of April 1, 2009, the bank ranked fifth in terms of overall assets estimated at UAH 51.07 billion among 182 operating banks, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.
