Kyiv, August 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko has said that the country should complete programs on the provision of schools with computers and buses next year. "We should ensure the computerization of schools and complete the School Bus program in 2010," he said at a council on preparations for the 2009/2010 academic year in Ovidiopol, Odesa region, on Thursday. Yuschenko said that 90% of Ukrainian schools had been equipped with computers and 75% provided with buses. He said that over 800 vehicles should be bought to complete the School Bus program. "We currently have 2,300 school buses. In 2009, it is planned to buy 728 [buses using funds] from the state budget and 121 from the local budget. This is a total of 849 buses," Yuschenko said. In Odesa, the head of state presented the keys to cars to five war veterans. | |
