Kyiv, July 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine's government has passed a decision to start the procedure of selling controlling stakes held by National JSC Energy Company of Ukraine in 15 regional electricity supply companies (oblenergos), acting head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine Dmytro Parfenenko has said.

"This doesn't mean that all the 15 stakes will be put up for sale simultaneously, which will cause a market meltdown and that we end up selling everything for nothing," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.

According to Parfenenko, thorough marketing studies will determine the order for putting the stakes in the oblenergos up for sale.

"We are currently conducting preparations for the sales of these stakes," he said.

The controlling stakes will be first withdrawn from the statutory capital of the national JSC Energy Company of Ukraine, and then evaluated. Only after that will the terms of the sales will be drafted.

"If we'll hurry, then, the first stake may be put up for sales in September," the SPF acting head said.
