11:53 UKRAINE MOST ACTIVE GEORGIA'S ARMS SUPPLIER, MOSCOW SEES STANCE AS UNFRIENDLY
Moscow, August 4 (Interfax) - Kyiv's stance on arms supply to Georgia is unfriendly towards Russia, said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin. "We believe that the Ukrainian leadership has taken a stand in the issue of military hardware supplies to Georgia that is unfriendly towards us," he said in an interview with Interfax on Tuesday. "We know which countries and firms are selling arms to Tbilisi. We are gathering information about their activities and operate concrete, verified facts. Ukraine is one of the most active in this respect," he said. Moscow is being straightforward with Kyiv on this matter, he said. "Tbilisi is being actively armed by several other countries as well," he said. "We raised and we will continue raising our concerns with their representatives in our bilateral contacts," the high-ranking diplomat said. "We reserve the right to limit our military-technical and economic cooperation with the countries, which have companies and organizations supplying Georgia with military and dual-purpose products in the most strenuous and ostentatious manner," Karasin said. "Russia will act according to the current situation and will deliberately thwart arms supplies to Tbilisi," the deputy minister said. "We are preparing various options involving economic measures against certain countries or certain foreign firms supplying arms and military hardware to Georgia, certainly, not without taking into account our current and future bilateral relations," Karasin said.
