Kyiv, August 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) - UDC Holding, part of Universal Investment Group (both based in Kyiv) is intending by late 2011 to construct the four-star Novotel hotel worth EUR 8 million on Mitskevych Square in Lviv, UDC Holding Director General Leonid Bohdanov has told journalists at a press conference in Kyiv.

According to Bohdanov, the construction of the hotel with 76 rooms will be started no earlier than autumn 2010 due a large number of required permits to start construction in a UNESCO conservation zone.

"The construction will be started no earlier than autumn 2010 as it is a UNESCO conservation zone, and many permits are needed," he said.

Bohdanov said that a preliminary agreement with TUI Travel Plc (Britain), the official operator for accommodating guests and participants in the European Football Championship Euro 2012 on behalf of UEFA, has been signed regarding providing UEFA with rooms in the hotel for the period of Euro 2012 final matches.
