Kyiv, August 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – OJSC Turboatom, Ukraine's large turbine producer, on August 3 and August 4 delivered equipment for the first water turbine of the La Eska hydro power plant (Mexico) worth over UAH 18 million as a part of the contract on the supply of equipment for the plant.

The Turboatom's press service reported on Tuesday that this is a second stage of equipment shipments for the Mexican plant.

In April 2009 Turboatom shipped parts for two turbines. At present, a ring seal, a control mechanism of the water turbine, is being produced.

As reported, in March 2008 Turboatom jointly with Russia's OAO Power Machines signed a contract on supply of equipment for the La Eska hydro power plant, according to which Turboatom is to deliver two water turbines with embedded ring seals with a capacity of 380 MW for each turbine.

The value of the contract is estimated at around $33 million.

Turboatom is one of the largest energy machinery producers in Ukraine and has a full production cycle.

The Ukrainian State Property Fund owns 75.224% of the company.
