Kyiv, August 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The government must cooperate with the commercial banks in the mortgage sector, Ukrainian banker and presidential candidate Serhiy Tihipko has stated.

Tihipko gave this opinion during his visit to Zhytomyr, his press service reported on Thursday.

The politician said that if the government starts dealing with this issue on its own, people would start bribing state officials to get into state-funded housing programs.

He also stressed the importance of creating competition among the banks in the mortgage sector.
