Kyiv, August 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ecoenergy and Biogasprom (Sweden) in October 2009 are to start building waste incinerators worth around EUR 200 million each to generate heat and electricity in Lutsk, Bucha (Kyiv region) and Nova Kakhovka (Kherson region), the Ekonomicheskie Izvestia newspaper reported on Wednesday.

The report says that the funds are to be invested by Swedish companies, and the payback period will be at least eight years. The profit would be earned from making supplies of heat and electricity to households and industrial companies.

Each facility would generate 60 MW of energy per year.

"We plan to sell electricity at EUR 0.034 per kWh to households and heat at EUR 35 per Gcal and at EUR 65 per Gcal to heat supply organizations," reads the report, citing the managing director of the two Swedish companies in Ukraine, Valentyn Makohon.

The facility in Lutsk will recycle 184,000 tonnes of waste, that in Nova Kakhovka – 110,000 tonnes and in Bucha – 90,000 tonnes.

Swedish investors in September are to start talks with Donetsk city state administration on the building of an incinerator in the city. It is expected that the capacity of the Donetsk facility would be 400,000 tonnes of recycled waste per year. The incinerator is to generate 100 MW of energy per year.
