Odesa, August 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Odesa regional office of the Shipping Register of the Transport and Communications Ministry of Ukraine on July 31 canceled a license issued to Transinvestservice (TIS, Odesa) for operating Yuzhny port's berth No. 16, Iryna Chibirova, the port's press secretary, has told Interfax-Ukraine.

Transinvestservice stevedoring company received the license on June 23, 2009.

The register cancelled the license due to a protest from the Black Sea Transport Prosecutor's Office.

Earlier, Yuzhny port applied to the prosecutor's office to check the legality of the operation of berth No. 16 by Transinvestservice. According to the port management, the Shipping Register illegally issued a certificate of operational worthiness for berth No. 16 to Transinvestservice, despite the absence of an agreement between Transinvestservice and the State Property Fund.

Meanwhile, TIS Container Terminal Director Andriy Kuzmenko said that on the same day, July 31, the Shipping Register issued a new license on the registration of the waterside structure.
