Kyiv, August 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Rainford commercial and industrial group is planning on August 15 to sign an agreement on the purchase of the Bolshaya Lozhka supermarket chain belonging to private enterprise Reardi (both based in Dnipropetrovsk), the group has told Interfax-Ukraine.

"The agreement is due to be signed on August 15," an interlocutor of the agency said.

The source did not give the details and value of the deal, adding that the detailed information on the deal would only be announced when the agreement is signed.

Rainford commercial and industrial group unites 14 Rainford food supermarkets (with areas of between 700 and 6,000 square meters) and about 40 Korzinka stores (their average area is 30 square meters) in Dnipropetrovsk, Kryvy Rih, Zaporizhia, Kyiv and other cities.

As of June 3, 2009, the Bolshaya Lozhka supermarket chain included 31 supermarkets in the southeastern region of Ukraine.

In early April, Bolshaya Lozhka announced that it plans by the end of the year to open seven more supermarkets.

The chain is planning over 2009 to achieve a turnover of UAH 500 million, which is 32.4% down on 2008.
