Kyiv, August 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv has submitted four lawsuits to the Economic Court on canceling illegal decisions by Kyiv City Council regarding the use of land around the Motherland Memorial, the press service of the prosecutor's office reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, the struggle revolves around former parking lots for tour buses.

An inspection of the prosecutor's office has shown that, according to the Kyiv City Council's decision of December 25, 2008, some 0.4 hectares of land at Koziatynsky Lane were sold to four individuals for the building and maintenance of residential housing. The new owners later resold their property rights to a single owner.

However, the land is included in the Kyiv Pechersk Historical and Cultural Park, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The prosecutor's office said that the decisions of the Kyiv City Council violated the laws of Ukraine.
