Kyiv, July 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The shareholders of Prestige insurance company (Kyiv) at a meeting on July 20, 2009, decided to liquidate the company, the insurer has told the press.

The reason for the company's liquidation was the absence of the possibility to increase the company's assets and statutory capital.

The company's assets as of December 31, 2008, were UAH 7.523 million, its own capital was UAH 7.523 million, and its liabilities were UAH 5 million.

According to the company's financial report, the company has enough funds to fulfill its obligations.

Prestige insurance company was registered in 1994. Its core business is risk insurance.

According to the State Commission on Securities and the Stock Market, as of December 2008 Ukrexpert (Kyiv) owned a 24.52% stake in the company.

The statutory capital of the company is UAH 9.432 million.
