Kyiv, July 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Some 81.1% of the Ukrainians have been affected by the financial crisis to some extent, according to a new poll.

The poll was conducted by the Institute of Social and Political Psychology of the Academy of Psychological Sciences of Ukraine and presented at a press conference at the Interfax-Ukraine agency on Thursday.

According to the poll, the south and east of Ukraine have been more affected by the crisis (87% and 83.6% of the respondents) than the western and central regions of the country (78.6% and 77.5%).

Speaking about the monthly income of a family member, some 61.8% said they figure is UAH 500-900, while some 17.3% get more than UAH 900. Around 3.2% of the respondents get up to UAH 300 a months and 11.5% say the figure is UAH 400-500.

Thus, the experts say that two different trends are now seen in Ukraine: on the one hand Ukrainians are adapting to the crisis conditions, but on the other hand discontent over their income is growing,

Some 2010 respondents over 18 were polled in all the regions of Ukraine from June 26 to July 3 2009. The average margin of error is 2.2%.
