Kyiv, July 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine (PGO), during checks on the activities of the state commission for the financial services market regulation, detected violations of Ukrainian law, the PGO press service has said.

The press service reported that the law on financial services and state regulation of financial services markets, the law on insurance and the law on credit unions had been violated.

During the checks, the PGO discovered violations in issuing licenses. They were issued to some companies on the basis of documents that were not in line with license conditions or in violation of the required terms. The commission did not provide for the registration of checks, or monitor the elimination of violations in the activities of financial organizations, the PGO said.

In addition, the commission has for a long period failed to issue resolutions on the forced imposition of fines that were not paid by financial institutions voluntarily. The commission has not been overseeing the execution of court rulings on the imposing of fines, and materials for their forced execution have not been sent to the law-enforcement bodies.

Illegal decisions on imposing measures and freeing companies from responsibility for violations, which were protested against by the PGO, were made. In addition, violations of the law on the applications of citizens of Ukraine against officials of the state commission for financial service market regulation were registered.

After the checks, the head of the commission was instructed to penalize offending officials. Five protests, which have been considered and taken into account, were issued. The information was submitted to the Ukrainian prime minister.
