Kyiv, July 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The Opera five-star hotel in Kyiv and the Donbas Palace five-star hotel in Donetsk have entered the final stage of talks with Britain's TUI Travel plc, the official operator for accommodation of guests and the Euro 2012 European football championship participants from UEFA.

"I'm glad that we reached the final stage of the talks. Donbas Palace, Opera and TUI Travel have a great deal of experience in the tourism sphere. This gives us confidence that in the near future all of the required agreements will be reached," reads a press release of the hotels, citing their managing director, Bernard Micallef.

The document says that the sides plan to sign the agreement by late August.

"The Donbas Palace and Opera hotels will do all to ensure the championship is hosted at a high level, and we don't need any aid or any compensation from the national or municipal budgets," Micallef said.

In addition, the sides said that they plan to cooperate not only during Euro 2012 but at other times as well.

"Despite the fact that the agreement has not been signed, we can safely say that we'll find a compromise which will satisfy the two sides," reads the release, citing the manager for contracts in European cities of the accommodations and destinations department at TUI Travel plc.
