Kyiv, August 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A state stake of 25.01% in energy supply company OJSC Odesaoblenergo will not be put on sale in the near future, State Property Fund Acting Head Dmytro Parfenenko has said during a Web conference.

"I'd like to draw your attention to the fact that Odesaoblenergo is not for sale," he said.

As reported, in May 2009 the SPF suspended a tender for the sale of a 25.01% stake in Odesaoblenergo, as National JSC Energy Company of Ukraine had not passed the company's shares to the SPF. It was supposed the stake would be put on sale on May 19.

The SPF set its hopes on the sale of Odesaoblenergo as it supposed there would a competition between two major shareholders in the company, neither of which has full control of the company.

Structures close to MP Kostiantyn Zhevaho (the BYT faction) and VS Energy International (the Netherlands), controlled by Russia's State Duma Vice Speaker Alexander Babakov, currently operating the energy supply company are struggling for control over Odesaoblenergo.
