Zaporizhia, Ukraine. July 27 (Interfax-AVN) – Motor Sich plans to deliver up to 420 airplane and helicopter engines to its customers this year, including 260 to Russia, the Ukrainian company's head Vyacheslav Bohuslayev told journalists.

"The crisis has certainly influenced our plans, but we hope to produce at least 420 airplane and helicopter engines in 2009, including nearly 260 for Russia," Bohuslayev said.

Up to 130 helicopters currently under production in Russia can be equipped with Ukrainian engines, he said.

Russian helicopter makers' demand for Ukrainian engines declined by 5% in 2009 year-on-year, Bohuslayev said.

Today, nearly all Russian helicopters are fitted with engines manufactured by Motor-Sich.

The company's net profit was UAH 39.9 million in the first six months of the year, Bohuslayev said.
