Zaporizhia, July 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Zaporizhia-based OJSC Motor Sich saw UAH 39.9 million in net profit in January to June 2009, while in January to June 2008 its net profit stood at UAH 5.34 million, the company's board chairman, Vyacheslav Bohuslaev, has told the press.

He said that in 2009 the company would deliver up to 420 aircraft and helicopter engines to customers, including 260 – to Russia.

"The crisis, of course, has impacted our plans, but we expect that we'll produce at least 420 aircraft and helicopter engines in 2009, including around 260 for Russia," he said.

He noted that up to 130 helicopters being built in Russia could be equipped with Ukrainian engines.

Bohuslaev said that demand on Ukrainian engines from Russian helicopter builders in 2009 fell by some 5% against 2008.

Today, almost all Russian helicopters are equipped with Motor Sich's engines.
