Kyiv, July 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The leadership of the Opera five-star hotel in Kyiv and the Donbas Palace five-star hotel in Donetsk have said that Britain's TUI Travel plc, the official operator for accommodation of guests and the Euro 2012 European football championship participants from UEFA, offered unacceptable terms to the hotels.

ESTA Holding, the owner of Opera and Donbas Palace hotels, told Interfax-Ukraine that the draft agreements to be signed between the hotels and the travel agency proposed payment in installments within 45 days after the championship ends.

The travel agency also wanted the right to cancel reservations a day before accommodation without any fines. In addition, TUI Travel obliged the hotels to work with certain food suppliers, despite the fact that the hotels have their own supplier and commitments to them.

The price of a room at EUR 600-800 per day is in line with the prices of most five-star hotels located in the capital, taking into account inflation and risks, the leadership of the hotels said.

"The Opera and Donbas Palace hotels proposed prices of rooms in line with the prices of most of the other five-star hotels in Kyiv, taking into account inflation and undertaken risks," the company told the agency.

The holding said that the hotels' leadership is ready for more talks with TUI Travel, although attempts to contact the operator have been without result so far.

"The price of [EUR 600-800] is not final and can be discussed. The hotels' leadership several times tried to contact the TUI Travel representatives, but everything was in vain. The issue of the price is not critical for us, and we're ready to [compromise] on the price," the holding said.
