Kyiv, August 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – After the approval of the results of an additional issue of shares by Kyiv-based OJSC Oranta Insurance Company, apart from Kazakhstan's BTA Bank, which subscribed for 35.71% of the shares, companies of Kyiv-based IMG Holding and a Ukrainian investor could become large shareholders in the company, which jointly would build up a stake of 38-40% of the shares.

Oleh Spilka, the head of the insurer's supervisory board, gave the information in an interview with the Invest Gazeta publication.

"Preliminary BTA Bank would have 35.17%, and IMG Holding's companies and an Ukrainian investor, whose name I cannot disclose now, - 38-40%, western investment funds – 10% and minority shareholders who took active part in the subscription, including individuals, who bought from 0.3 to 0.6% of shares, would have the rest of the shares," Spilka said.

He said that Cypriot Colorino Trading Limited and Saleta Limited, which owned a 24.98% stake each, and did not support their stakes.

Spilka expressed hope that BTA Bank would pay for a 35.17% stake.

"The payment term arrives in first days of September, and there are no signs that the bank will not pay for it," he said.

Spilka said that before the subscription, around 12% of shares belonged to U.S., Swiss and Finnish funds, and the majority of them had backed their stakes.

Oranta is one of the three largest insurance companies in Ukraine in the sphere of classical insurance. Currently, the company has almost 800 branches in regional centers, districts and cities. Its agent chain consists of over 7,000 insurance agents.
