Kyiv, August 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) - A large farming and industrial company, LSE-listed Landkom International Plc, has launched the first stage of a new grain elevator facility in Krasne (Lviv region), 40 kilometers from the regional center.

According to a company report at the LSE, the elevator, which has a storage capacity of 20,000 tonnes, has received the first consignments of grain.

The company also bought equipment to double the capacity of the new elevator.

As reported, Landkom International started building the elevator in Krasne in the autumn on 2008.

Landkom International Plc is a large-scale producer of agricultural feedstock, principally oil seed rate and wheat for supply to the European bio-diesel and food industries.

In March 2008, the company placed shares worth GBP 10.8 million ($22 million), selling 10.8 million new shares, or 5.4% of the total number issued, at GBP 1 per share. At present, they are listed at GBP 0.12 per share.
