13:46 KAZAKHSTAN MAY RAISE EXPORT DUTY ON OIL AND FUEL, BAN EXPORTS OF OIL PRODUCTS
Astana, August 6 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) - The Antimonopoly Agency of Kazakhstan suggested raising the export customs duty on oil, gasoline and diesel fuel, agency's spokesman Zhandos Nurmaganbetov said. "The rate of export customs duty on oil products set at 59.87 dollars per ton is too low to make the sale of fuel products in the domestic market appealing to the exporters," he said at a press conference in Astana on Thursday. "With that in mind the antimonopoly agency filed a proposal to the Kazakh government to raise the customs duty on gasoline, diesel fuel and oil exports," he said. He also informed the reporters that the agency was lobbying a temporary ban on export of oil products.
